VISA Electron is a debit card with over 394 users worldwide, and is particularly well-represented in Spain, most Western European countries, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East and Africa. Thanks to an array of ‘built-in’ security functions which send a warning if the purchase amount is too high, this debit card is especially popular among students, start-up companies and people with a limited budget. The difference between this card and other VISA debit cards is that in order to pay using the VISA Electron card, the amount due must also be available in the linked bank account balance. With other VISA debit cards, it is possible to use the card to make payments which exceed the balance available, up to a pre-determined limit.

If you would like to include VISA Electron as one of the payment methods you offer in your webshop, you must complete the general application procedure for Credit Cards (VISA/MasterCard) with ICEPAY. This application procedure takes at least two weeks, yet can sometimes take even longer. This is due to the requirements the credit card companies set for their providers.
For your customers, paying using VISA Electron works the same as with every other credit card.
All your customer has to do is:- Choose a product in your webshop;
- Choose VISA Electron as the payment method;
- Select their own bank;
- Execute the payment and approve it via the secure bank environment and method of payment;
- And: the payment is complete.
