With some 1.7 million cardholders, and a multiple of this in transactions, VISA is far and away the largest credit card issuing company in the world. Together with MasterCard, an astronomical 62 billion transactions are made each year using the VISA card. This works out to 1,971 Visa and MasterCard transactions per second! VISA is also the most frequently used credit card worldwide when it comes to payments via the Internet. With over 2 million cardholders, VISA is also very well-represented in the Netherlands. If you don’t want to miss out on any sales, accepting VISA (and MasterCard) is an attractive option for payments in your webshop.

It is simple. Basically, you have to follow the same procedure for any payment method:

VISA is the second largest credit card provider in the Netherlands (4.2 million cardholders) after MasterCard and number one worldwide (959 million cardholders). By offering payments by VISA in your webshop, you will be able to reach a large group of consumers. The combination with MasterCard will mean you will cover nearly all of the credit card holders worldwide. At ICEPAY, this combination is automatic.
MasterCard and VISA have developed a security system to fight credit card fraud. This system is called 3-D Secure. Online VISA transactions: How it works for customers
If you would like to include VISA as one of the payment methods you offer in your webshop, you must complete the general application procedure for Credit Cards (VISA/MasterCard) with ICEPAY. This application procedure takes at least two weeks, yet can sometimes take even longer. This is due to the requirements the credit card companies set for their providers.
For your customers, paying using VISA works the same as with every other credit card.
All your customer has to do is:- Choose a product in your webshop;
- Choose VISA as the payment method;
- Fill in the required credit card information in the VISA secure environment;
- Confirm the payment;
- And: the payment is complete.
